Love or Hate them, disc brakes on road bikes are here to stay.  It is certain that the more powerful braking performance of a disc brake requires a higher spoke count in the wheel to ensure stiffness and reliability, unfortunately most the wheels coming with these bikes have had little development and are very heavy, that is before you go and bolt a disc rotor onto them...

For the D21, we used the same rim which we had tested extensively on the R21 and R21HD wheels.  We kept the rim all black and did not machine the rim down as we would the rim brake wheels.  The rim is super light and has excellent aerodynamic properties.

We kept the Japanese EZO bearings that are famous in our products, we kept standard, easy to find and replace aero bladed spokes.  On this model we do use the bigger 3.2mm bladed spoke to ensure maximum stiffness and reliability when you're cranking on the brakes.

The final outcome we are proud to say is one of the lightest, fastest, strongest disc brake wheels on the market.

Specifications

Compatible with Shimano 11 speed standard as well as 8,9 and 10 speed cassettes using supplied spacer.
